Prostate

The prostate is a small, chestnut-sized gland located below the bladder and in front of the rectum. It surrounds the urethra, which transports urine from the bladder.
The main function of the prostate is to produce a fluid that supports sperm flow. This fluid provides nutrients to the sperm and creates a favorable environment for fertilization. The prostate also plays a role in controlling urine flow, as it surrounds the sphincter of the urethra.

Preventive Care

Over the course of life, the prostate undergoes a natural growth process. However, in some men, the prostate may become benignly enlarged, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This can lead to problems with urination, as the enlarged prostate may press on the urethra. It is also possible that the prostate can become cancerous, leading to the development of prostate cancer.

It is advisable to undergo regular preventive examinations to detect and treat potential issues early.
